I'M DISGUSTED.

SICKENING YOUTH OF TODAY

It's no secret that the youth of today are on a downward spiral of decadence and depravity. The sickening collapse of common decency in today's society brought on by bleeding heart lefties and influx of benefit grabbing foreigners - our own children of this great nation are being turned into drug users and criminals.

Here are some of the disgusting examples of a country gone mad.

The One, The Train and Hungover.

So I recently wrote this spoken word piece - just to sort of practice my writing in what I'd describe as my 'natural' voice. Or at least my attempt at it.

So here it is in written form just in case, I dunno, you wanna closer look.

Lovely Lovely West Lothian.

West Lothian is the place I grew up.
A fairly unremarkable splatter of council estates, new build schemes, green belt villages, pound store high-streets, super markets and shopping centers. When I meet someone that hasn't heard of our post industrial retail paradise I mention four things:

Livingston Skate Park
Pictured: My Teenage years
Livingston 'Centre' - which is the retail equivalent of Frankenstein's monster

Two of these car parks high lighted are now shopping units.
'Jewel of the Nation the Planet the Universe' Susan Boyle

She's had her hair done since then.
Or this Frankie Boyle joke (skip to 22s)

Oh and some dude with stupid hair.

DIY Contact Mic

So I went and made myself a contact mic.

From an old broken mic and a Piezo transducer.

Robbie Thomson - Ecstatic Arc

Recently-ish I had the pleasure of viewing a piece of installation art by Glasgow based artist Robbie Thomson at Summerhall, Edinburgh

Allow me to set the scene.

Bob Ballantyne

Recently I've been working on an slightly experimental documentary film with art school chum and film maker Stuart Edwards.

It's a project I've sort of piggy backed on since Stuart decided to make a documentary about oil workers in Aberdeen. This developed into an investigation into the Piper Alpha disaster: On the 6th of July, 1988 due to a series of technical and human errors leading to many explosions; the offshore oil platform Piper Alpha was engulfed in flame and fell into the sea.

167 men died as a result. A terrible tragedy.

The loss of human life and the pure horrific drama of the events is stirring.
Books have been written about the disaster, a play has been written  and a well received documentary was released this year marking the 25th anniversary of the incident.
